JOB DESCRIPTION:
The data control specialist position sits within the Banking Group’s Data IBG team under the data governance pillar. The data control specialist will support the data management practice of the Institutional Banking Group.
Responsibilities:
1. Support data first initiatives on bank-wide data governance framework.
2. Work with data stewards to ensure the data controls and processes are satisfactorily executed in IBG.
3. Ensure IBG data quality issues are properly followed up, monitoring procedures in place, status reported and addressed within the expected timelines.
4. Ensure IBG owned data have proper business metadata in place.
5. Ensure RDU operations are executed in accordance to the operating model and conduct frequent review to ensure the quality and standards are met.
6. Manage IBG data access and ensure the right access is given to the right party in a timely manner
7. Assist to review various data requests within IBG in accordance to the data policy and standards
8. Support the DDOM exercise by managing the DDOM control processes and controls.
9. Assist in defining data standards, setting up data governance controls and procedures.
10. Support user community on data queries and guidance on usages of the bank’s data.
Requirements:
1. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
2. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and act independently.
3. Ability to work as a team, contribute positively and constructively towards achieving the data goals of the department.
4. At least 3 years of experience working in the areas of data management and data governance with good level of knowledge in data management area.
5. Experience in setting up data standards, data governance control & procedures
6. Moderate level of project management, general business knowledge of bank’s process and systems.
7. Basic level of SQL skills
