The role is responsible for identifying and appraising new technologies that will help enable world beating products. The right candidate will have a strong scientific / engineering background, and an ability to assess opportunities across a broad range of technology fields. Commercial acumen and strong relationship building skills are vital to ensure that ‘win-win’ terms are negotiated in securing collaboration agreements. Key Responsibilities
Delivery
- Establish a pipeline of technology opportunities, which are aligned with Genesis Medtech’s product and technology roadmaps. With a combination of technical insight, and commercial acumen, identify opportunities with potential to enable ‘winning’ products
- In collaboration with Genesis’s Medtech R&D teams, make assessment of technologies in order to identify and down select to the most promising technologies
- Facilitate introductions and demonstrations, in order to ‘bring to life’ new technologies to Genesis Medtech’s stakeholders
- Facilitate technical and commercial diligence, in order validate technologies
- Be a source for technology and market insights to the team and monitor the technology/market pulse
- Perform in depth analysis of market size, growth and share performance at country, region and product levels, benchmarking, identify and monitor key market trends and activities
- Retrieve and aggregate market data from multiple primary and secondary sources into a digestible and actionable format, lead standardization of all relevant market data
- Ensure data accuracy through design and implementation of ongoing data integrity and validation processes
- Lead, design and develop automated reporting solutions for market information to enable stakeholders to manage the business and make effective decisions
- Develop and implement plans for improving business and market intelligence and own all deliverables against timelines
- Engage with internal stakeholders to define and scope analysis projects by leveraging deep understanding of internal and external knowledge
- Effectively manage communication and collaboration with external data vendors
Collaboration and teamwork
- Establish highly collaborative relationships with all Genesis Medtech’s teams which interact with the Technology Scouting
- Establish strong relationships with relevant technology companies, academic organizations, and the Government
Communication and Reporting
- Clear, concise, and objective communication and reporting on the status of the activity of Technology Scouting team
- Establish, maintain, and report key metrics that objectively measure progress

Experience and Qualifications
- It is likely that the right candidate will have a deep level of expertise in specific field(s), combined with a breadth of understanding of science and technology, which enables them to assess technologies across a range of fields and applications
- Experience of the Asia’s research institutes and other government organisations associated with new technologies is very desirable. These networks and relationships will enable the rapid establishment and expansion of Technology Scouting activity in Singapore and Asia
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Biomedical Science or a medical related science
- 5+ years of relevant experience in a management consultancy firm is preferred
- Medical device experience is a must
