Job Description

1. Summary:

The Data Steward team is pivotal in driving Department’s data-driven and GenAI ambitions through strong data governance and management practices. Along with our partners across Business, platform owners and enterprise teams, we drive initiatives on improving data quality, monitoring of critical data, management of reference data, uphold metadata standards, and enable responsible data use for GenAI and AI/ML. The team also oversees access management (including cross-border), data architecture, and data lifecycle governance, while proactively addressing audit and regulatory requirements enterprise-wide.

2. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and deliver multiple data governance projects and initiatives aligned with data stewardship mandate.

• Collaborate with data owners, business teams, and platform owners to operationalize enterprise data governance policies and standards.

• Identify, track, and resolve data quality issues strategically and effectively.

• Perform data profiling and analysis to assess quality and recommend improvements.

• Manage enterprise data lake (ADA) access, govern data ingestion, review and approve metadata dictionaries, and implement models for metadata security and sensitivity.

• Other new initiative and priorities as they arise

3. Qualifications:

• Proven experience in data governance, management, or stewardship roles, with a track record of operationalizing enterprise data policies and standards.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of framing and resolving issues both tactically and strategically.

• Banking or financial services experience, with understanding of data dependencies and their impact on risk, finance, and regulatory reporting.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Hands-on experience with data quality and governance tools.

Proficiency in SQL and other data analysis tools.
