The Role:
The Business Analyst assists in the identification and analysis of business requirements from management and stakeholders and works with the Head of IT to outline I Can Read’s systems specifications. The Business Analyst analyses systems and processes to identify enhancement opportunities to resolve system gaps, evaluates the ability of an existing system to support proposed changes, and identifies systems deficiencies and performance gaps.
The Business Analyst is knowledgeable with software development models. He is also familiar with requirements project management requirements analysis and design definition.
The Business Analyst possesses an analytical mind, and is able to see interlinkages with system solutions and usability. He/she adopts a systematic approach in handling ambiguous or complex issues, and actively discusses his/her perspectives to arrive at effective solutions.
The Responsibilities:
Analyse business needs, systems and requirements Maintain and enhance the company’s custom applications and SaaS services that support the company’s business goals
Gather business requirements from management and stakeholders; ensure that proposed solutions are aligned with user needs and business goals
Document processes, functionalities and requirements for each project
Conduct feasibility studies on proposed solutions
Provide analysis to support the development of business cases
Conduct analysis on the risk and benefits for the proposed solutions
Develop technical specifications
Assist with translating business requirements into functional specifications
Document specifications and interfaces between legacy and new systems, and systems enhancements and detailed specifications where required
Act as the liaison between users and technical staff throughout the solution implementation cycle
Manage the implementation of new solutions and/or enhancements
Manage application rollout projects from initiation to go-love
Develop test cases and run acceptance test with the support of stakeholders
Conduct training and review user acceptance tests
Support and troubleshoot issues on custom applications
Collaborate with technology team members, end users and other stakeholders such as vendors and third parties on projects and maintenance
Support users on change control and systems updates and escalate issues to relevant team members for resolution
Document post-test evidence of expected results or defects
Prepare progress reports and training documents
Develop technical documentation of the design documents, coding documents and user manuals
Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and integration testing in accordance with the implementation plan
Ensure adherence to project plan to ensure deliverables are completed on time and in accordance with user and system requirements
Experience and Qualifications:
Diploma/Degree in Business IT, Information Systems Management or other similar disciplines
At least 3 - 4 years of Business Systems experience
Programming skills in MySQL, Javascript, PHP is an advantage
Able to read/decipher API documentations
