Dentsu Creative (DC) is looking for an Associate Strategy Director with experience working in creative agencies to help identify insights and shape ideas that have the power to impact culture.

Internally, you'll partner with senior creative to shape the creative output, help unlock provocative briefs and lead the integrated communications strategy across Dentsu. Externally, you'll challenge our clients to think bigger about what's possible across their brands. They want to win in every discipline of creativity, and your strategies - rooted in culture, data, and behaviour - will help drive these brands towards growth.

We’ll expect you to be brilliant at the following:

  • Structure and lead individual projects spanning creative, brand and communications strategy.

  • Fluent in leading complex data analysis across multiple sources.

  • Able to oversee and guide complex research (quantitative and qualitative).

  • Create compelling strategic recommendations from research, data and culture.

  • This goes without saying, but you’ll need to know what brilliant looks like and how to inspire the creative team to make it happen.

  • We’re looking for someone who understands what it takes to identify cultural insights and nuances and can steer the work in individual markets as well as multi-market.

  • You can sell smart strategy and keeps things super-simple yet deviously provocative.

  • A broad understanding of and affinity for the full mix of media channels, from social to digital to advertising and an ambition to bring it all together in an integrated manner.

  • Develop and support in the facilitation of client workshops.

Person Specifications:

You are an excellent storyteller that is skilled in translating data insights and cultural shifts into creative direction that helps define the future of the brand. A connected strategic thinker and client advisor, you’re a builder, doer, and live to create the connective tissue that brings brands and people together. You are someone who is adept at playing a key role in shaping strategy for client projects and new business pitches.


  • 6+ years of experience in creative and brand strategy with a good understanding of marketing and communications.

  • A master/ mistress of the pen; demonstrable experience working with, and translating, data and culture into meaningful insights that inspires ground-breaking creativity.

  • A sharp, visionary, critical thinker, able to distill vast amounts of information into a singular, powerful strategic opportunity and narrative.

  • Able to drive and lead strategy, build client relationships, and identify opportunities for clients to grow brand value.

  • Creative problem solver with deep experience working with cross functional teams and the ability to provide concise, clear, and actionable creative direction and feedback.

  • Compelling communicator and prepared to muck in, it’s a small team.
