Network Engineer (Woodlands)
Office hours, 8am-5.30pm. Oncall support
US MNC.
Python language is a must.
Responsibility
Provide first level infrastructure operation support to maintain local area network (LAN) infrastructure including network switches, routers, firewalls, Loadbalancers, WLC’s Wireless, voice and telephony infrastructure.
Collaborate with India NOC to support Wide Area Network (WAN) infrastructure including WAN, ISP circuits and VPN tunnels.
Proactively monitor alerts and traffic statistics to prevent disruption to network services using network performance monitoring tools – eg, HP NNM, Splunk, Netscout, Netbrain, DNAC, Cisco Prime etc
Analyze network incidents and system performance indices and suggest on improvements
Able to handle Escalations and resolve the issue within SLA
Responsible for the operational health (Security, Availability, Performance, Interoperability and Reliability) of Micron’s data communications systems.
Support maintenance and administration of Micron’s data and voice communications systems.
Specialize in LAN/WAN, Wireless, Telecommunications, Hardware, software and technical troubleshooting.
Work with Micron’s Business Units to ensure solutions meet or exceed business requirements.
Able to suggest, promote, and leverage published standards to minimize environment complexity and ensure regulatory as well as license compliance.
Plan, design, and analyze costs of network (wired and wireless), voice, data and video infrastructure for mergers, acquisitions and new/existing site construction or expansion.
Provide formal corporate communications on directional changes or changes that will impact existing services.
Able to drive Engineering efforts in Monitoring.
Manage and improve the Operational Processes to ensure all KPI’s are met.
Optimizing the performance of new equipment.
Participating in the project planning process.
Flexible to work in Rotation shift in all Time zones
Able to provide Oncall support when needed outside the Office hours
Requirements
Require a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Information System/Communication/Computer Science/Electronics/Network Engineering or equivalent
Certificate in CCNA, CCNP
Ability to understand and update troubleshooting guides
Ability to respond and act swiftly and confidently in emergency situations
Customer-oriented, with focus on customer needs and service delivery that meets or exceeds customer expectations
Good verbal and written communication skills
At least 2 years of experience in either Wireless LAN Networks, Cisco systems, Business operations, Cost accounting, Voice communication system, Network monitoring and management applications, IP address management, routing management, subnetting or VLAN management.
Knowledge in Python Programming language is essential.
