About the Production Support Engineer Role:
In this role, the successful candidate will play an integral role in providing operational support for both the trading and tech teams, troubleshooting and escalating application issues, and building/deploying tools to improve automation and monitor the stack. The role involves a mixture of application, infrastructure and desktop support.
Key Responsibilities:
Investigate and resolve infrastructure/application issues on a live production system
Develop and execute automation scripts to improve procedures and efficiency
Monitor applications and infrastructure alerts, and respond quickly to mitigate issues
Collaborate with the Infrastructure team to provide operational support for both trading and tech teams
Take ownership of open support tickets and provide timely resolution to issues
To succeed in this Production Support Engineer role, you must be comfortable supporting across application, infrastructure and desktop issues and have a passion for learning.
Key Requirements:
Strong experience with Linux, including CentOS/RHEL/Fedora
Solid understanding of networking protocols and configuration management tools like Puppet/Ansible
Proficiency in Python/Shell scripting and CI tools like Jenkins, Gitlab CI, Terraform
Familiarity with public cloud providers like Google Cloud and AWS
Knowledge of exchange trading protocol ITCH/OUCH/FIX and exchange connectivity and onboarding process
Hands-on experience setting up a workstation with multiple screens
Active directory knowledge is a plus
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and escalate issues
Strong communication and teamwork skills
