JOB SUMMARY

  • This role is to support the design, testing and implementation of second line of defence (“2LOD”) data analytics initiatives in line with the Bank’s objective to identify and mitigate Financial Crime risks, in compliance with Group policy and procedures, and AML/CFT laws and regulations in Singapore. 

  • As part of this role that sits within the Singapore Financial Crime Compliance (“FCC”) team, the incumbent is expected to partake and/or drive related group projects and initiate/lead country analytics initiatives.

  • Engage with relevant internal stakeholders within Country, Region and Group e.g. Financial Crime Surveillance Operations (“FCSO”) Data analytics, CDD analytics, FCSO Assess-Analyse-Act (“AAA”) and FCC investigations, Business Units to gather requirements for capacity and productivity assessment, modelling, and perform process study analysis.

  • Perform data validation to achieve the anticipated result.

  • Design and identify specific local parameters which could enrich the model and give a more scientific result.

  • Design the analytic model to provide management data drive insights for decision making; and build report or dashboard for visualising analytic result. 

  • Frequent engagement with stakeholders to gather feedback and incorporate agreed items into the model and recommend areas of improvement as required.

  • Management and identification of key data points, trends that can be used in tandem with relevant teams like FCC investigations, Business Units to increase KPIs and improve risk identification efforts. 

  • Make recommendations and spearhead related country pilots to Head, FCC, Singapore and ASEAN Cluster, and relevant Country Management/Committee. 

  • Complete any other matters as directed by Head, FCC, Singapore and ASEAN Cluster.

  • Awareness and understanding of the Group and Country business strategy and model to recommend/partner with relevant Business units on country specific data analytics initiatives.

Business

  • Awareness and understanding of the various business unit functions within Country to gather requirements for capacity and productivity assessment, modelling, and perform process study analysis

Processes

Risk Management

  • The ability to interpret the associated risk issues/data points, identify key problem statement(s) based on this information and recommend to stakeholders the appropriate analytics-driven controls and measures to mitigate the concerned risk(s).

Governance

  • Assume collective team responsibility for spearheading the Country’s 2LOD data analytics strategy for Singapore and through this, deliver the related effective governance, oversight and controls within 2LOD CFCC.

  • Develop an awareness and understanding of the banking regulatory framework, in which the Group/Country operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to this 2LOD data analytics role.

Key Stakeholders

Engage and partner with various stakeholder groups, including but not limited to the following:

  • Central data analytics teams within various functions e.g. Financial Crime Surveillance Operations (FCSO), CDD Ops

  • Business Units

  • Fraud Risk Management 

  • FCSO and FCC ACT Investigations

  • Country and Group Technology 

  • Country Senior Management of relevant Committees

Other Responsibilities

  • Embed Here for good and Group’s brand and values in Singapore FCC; Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Graduate degree from a recognized university in a related discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Business analytics, Mathematics/Statistics) and/or relevant professional qualification in data analytics field. 

  • 3+ years of working experience in analytics related field or demonstrates high level of proficiency in analytics. Relevant experience in financial sector and/or FCC function is a plus. 

  • Capability to handle multiple tasks/projects and assumes strong ownership of tasks assigned.

  • Ability to work independently as an individual contributor on certain tasks, and also collaborate effectively within larger team and internal stakeholders.

  • Highly organized and meticulous, and possess a keen eye for detail.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Proficient and experience in building reports using Microsoft Excel, Tableau, SQL; Strong knowledge of other business intelligence and analytics tools like Alteryx, and statistical and automation tools like R, SAS, Python.
