The Role Responsibilities

  • We are seeking a talented and passionate, senior individual to join Standard Chartered as theDirector, Senior Process Mining Architectin the Group Transformation Office (“GTO”).

  • The Group Transformation Officedrives and executes the overall strategic transformation agenda. The team works under the guidance of the Global Head, Transformation, Chief Transformation, Technology and Operations Officer and Transformation, Technology and Operations (“TTO”) MT. The office also collaborates closely with senior business and functional leaders across the Bank to build and drive the Bank-wide transformation.

  • Operational Excellence (“OE”) Process Mining (“PM”) is an integral part of the Group Transformation Office, and this role provides thought leadership and steer to Bank-wide Operational Excellence efforts in close partnership with senior management. The role requires driving holistic change by coaching and empowering people through multiple levers including process taxonomy & constructs, process reengineering, structural changes, digitisation, policy streamlining, targets and tracking, training, and accountability.

  • Specifically, this role will establish the approach for digitizing process analysis and process improvement, directly involved in both the execution of lighthouse PM initiatives, as well as the definition of mechanisms that will allow for PM to become an embedded practice across the bank. Establishing a community of practice and PM training curriculum, this senior PM architect will role-model process-driven, end-to-end thinking.

  • The Director, Senior Process Mining Architect is a global role based out of Singapore.

Strategy

  • Understand the wider TTO, GTO and OE strategy and their implications to process mining

  • Contribute to the implementation of the Bank’s OE PM strategy and operating model, ensuring alignment with strategic business outcomes

  • Partner with other functions to embed process mining in operations across the bank to achieve targeted efficiency outcomes

  • Prioritize lighthouse projects that unlock new use cases and engagement domains

  • Drive growth and branding of OE Process Mining in the bank, and help embed bank wide culture of sustainable continuous improvement

Process Mining

  • Build business cases for utilizing PM, estimating improvements with a holistic, end-to-end mindset

  • Lead PM project delivery and tracking of optimization potential, incl. KPI/PPI definition

  • Run PM discovery, analysis and optimization workshops

  • Embrace lean/agile practices

  • Assimilate unknown process domain and terminology quickly

  • Correlate process execution with underlying data traces; locate, explore and quality-assess

  • Guide data scoping and analysis focus to maximize ROI on PM initiatives

  • Collaborate with data engineering team for source data parsing, obfuscation and transformation

  • Design process analyses (Software AG ARIS or Celonis), incl. storyboarding and dashboards layout

  • Validate information across multiple stakeholders and distil common threads and recommendations

  • Mitigate risks and impediments for project delivery

  • Nurture relationships, build network across key roles in business

  • Reflect on impact of changes in data scope and/or analysis approach and mitigate related risk early

Community

  • Design and establish PM community of practice

  • Run PM training sessions

  • Advocate for and role-model process-driven, end-to-end mindset

  • Present process mining approach, project briefs and lessons learned in various business forums

  • Collaborate with adjunct fields, like automation, simulation, process design

Risk Management

  • Identify and raise risks and missing/ineffective controls

  • Engage process and risk ownersto ensure mitigation of raised risks and missing/ineffective controls

  • Ensure that proposed process optimization aligns with (existing) risk and control coverage 

Governance

  • Own and lead PM delivery methodology and tracking of optimization potential

  • Design and establish PM training curriculum

  • Contribute to roadmap planning and project prioritization

  • Nurture and streamline collaboration model with PM engineering team

  • Capture lessons learned and derive/design scalable improvements to the PM delivery methodology

  • Be aware and understand the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role

Our Ideal Candidate

  • 8+ years of experience in executing process mining projects, prioritizing rollout roadmaps and partnering with business/process owners to drive process optimization

  • Strong understanding of process mining and management principles

  • Strong understanding of process performance indicators and their calculation logic

  • Strong working experience in developing targeted and tailored process mining

  • Proficiency in working with process mining solutions, incl. scripting and ETL(e.g. Celonis, ARIS Process Mining, Signavio)

  • Experience in developing talent and training business users of process mining solutions

  • Strong active listening skills

  • Confident and engaging communication skills across all levels of seniority

  • Experience working in large global organizations with multiple value chains

  • Knowledge of FSI processes is a plus

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
