The Role Responsibilities

  • Based in Singapore, this is an exciting role that combines strategic, and execution focus for an experienced professional who has strong domain expertise in project management

  • Reporting to the Head of HR Singapore, Brunei & Australia, the role holder will be at the forefront of shaping an elevated talent management experience for our SG key talent segments, developing, and deploying skills where they are needed most.

  • It involves being a program champion and business interface that leverages the voice of the business, HR community into the Global Talent COE and equally drives the SG Talent Management & Redeployment agenda using data and insights to create measurable value and sustainable impact in Standard Chartered.

  • Alongside the delivery of specific talent engagement and redeployment initiatives, you will work collaboratively with a wide variety of stakeholders you will be responsible for strengthening the way we do talent management for our SG talent population, delivering real impact now whilst building a strong pipeline of leaders for the future.

Strategy

  • Partner with key stakeholders to influence, shape, and deliver cross functional talent management priorities that drive value across the Bank, with specific emphasis on Growing Our Own Timber through effective talent identification, development, and retention strategies.

  • Responsible for managing all aspects of the respective HR projects, through its lifecycle, to agreed budget and quality:

  • Responsible for managing the delivery of and providing direction within a project, working closely with the relevant Business leads and wider HR stakeholders

  • Ensures scope, approach, solution design, timelines, costs, benefits and all other key aspects of the project are documented.

  • Ensures the Business Accountable Executive (AE) and the Investment/Steering Committee/)/Refinement Forum(RF) is made aware of any material risks, issues, cost, benefit, and scope changes.

Business

  • Provide strategic advisory, subject matter expertise and consulting capability to support the delivery of the SG HR projects linked to 2024 SG people agenda/objectives and key results

  • Partner with relevant HR stakeholders to drive consistency and impact of SG talent management and redeployment practices, processes, and key messages across the Bank

  • Manage conflicts in stakeholder expectations, employee experience and HR good practice in process solution design across multiple workstreams.

  • Understand risks, business imperatives and business context when facilitating decision making impacted by the process re-design, create solution options, and make recommendations.

  • Present clear options and recommendations, facilitate decision making and enable clear understanding in key stakeholders of risks, outcomes and trade-offs.

  • Be the change agent, guiding the organisation through periods of transition and driving transformation initiatives.

  • Leverage workforce data and insight to demonstrate impact, effectiveness and influence people and talent related decisions across the Bank. Proactively form credible relationships and drive impact of the talent function through availability of data that influences decision making across the enterprise.

Products 

  • Set the firm standard and approach for HR Project management, working closely with Heads of HR and key partners to deliver a robust approach that manages business needs for today and strengthens our future leadership pipeline

  • Focus on Strategic Talent Cultivation, spearhead innovative initiatives for Growing our Own Timber through effective talent identification, development, retention, and redeployment strategies.

  • Manage a portfolio of Country specific Talent Management programs such as Asia Talent Exchange Corridor, and offerings (including partnerships with third party partners) that are deployed to support to support talent identification and development of SG talents

  • Partner with HR stakeholders to curate the experience, manage the engagement and measure the impact of our investments in SG talent pools

  • Collaborate closely with Country Management Team, Business stakeholders and Heads of HR to drive integration of talent identification, development and deployment practices that result in an increased movement of top talent across the Bank

Processes

  • Participate in quality management reviews, process designs, prototypes and other requirement workbooks to ensure they fulfil stakeholder’s requirements.

  • Partner with GPOs and Product Owners to discharge process owner responsibilities for relevant HR Projects as required

  • Support GPOs to review new and existing processes and systems, identifying opportunities for improvement, reduced operational risk and improved employee experience

People & Talent

  • Set and monitor responsibilities for colleagues supporting delivery of the role objectives and key results, ensuring that continuous, balanced feedback is provided in line with project goals.

Risk Management

  • Ensure effective first line identification, management, monitoring and reporting of risks is undertaken in line with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) in a way that is consistent with the authority and responsibilities of the role

Governance

  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role

  • Maintain oversight of appropriate governance and controls, as they relate to the roles objectives and key results, and if necessary, propose / implement changes as necessary

  • Embed the Group’s values and code of conduct as it relates to the role remit to ensure that adherence with the highest standards of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations among employee’s form part of the culture

  • Ensure that all approved SG Talent Management projects expenditure are managed within the agreed enterprise project management standards
