Context of the role:
Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, the Senior UX Designer will be required to understand and help progress new user cases in international trade finance through the ‘design thinking’ process of empathise, define, ideate, prototype and test. You'll be creating wireframes, mockups and prototypes that can be tested at a high level either through walkthroughs or click-through demos, while working closely with bank and corporate end-users, as well as other business stakeholders.

  • Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user testing of new and innovative trade finance solutions

  • Participate in the design thinking process together with colleagues, as well as business users and stakeholders

  • Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions that are in line with the overall design of Contour’s main application

  • Take a user-centered design approach, and rapidly test and iterate your designs

  • Maintain a close relationship with the product and design team working on the core application to ensure future compatibility of solutions from the innovation process

  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders

  • Ask smart questions, take risks, and champion new ideas

Job requirements

  • 7 or more years of UX design or Innovation design experience. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience working in an innovation process and/or designing complex solutions for financial institutions (Trading, Transaction Banking, Settlement)

  • Expertise in Figma is a must. Basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills are a plus and will be highly preferred.

  • Ability to work and communicate with bank and corporate clients, to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that meet future client needs

  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments while designing solutions from scratch, where there may not be previous benchmarks to leverage

  • A solid grasp of user-centered design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability and accessibility concerns

  • Ability to iterate designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently

  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to our engineering team & clients

  • Experience with responsive web-designs

  • A clear understanding of the importance of user-centered design and design thinking

  • Passionate about resolving user pain points through the design of new solutions

  • Passionate about all things UX and other areas of design and innovation, as well as the industry’s latest trends and technologies
