Marketing Specialist – Cards Usage & Portfolio (12 months contract)

The Role
We are seeking a dynamic, highly organised, and results-oriented marketing professional to join our Brand Marketing team, with a dedicated focus on card usage and portfolio growth. This role is pivotal in driving customer engagement, deepening cardmember relationships, and enhancing portfolio performance for Bank Cards.
The ideal candidate will possess strong product marketing expertise—particularly in credit and debit cards—and a keen understanding of consumer spending behaviour, lifecycle marketing, and portfolio management. You will be responsible for planning and executing marketing strategies and campaigns aimed at increasing card usage, cross-selling opportunities, customer retention, and overall portfolio profitability.
In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders, including agencies, business analytics, cognitive banking, performance marketing, and the cards partnership, portfolio, and product teams to deliver data-driven and customer-centric marketing initiatives. You will also play a key role in reinforcing our brand promise through compelling campaigns and seamless customer journeys.
What you will be responsible for:
Campaign Strategy & Execution
1. Develop clear and compelling positioning that differentiates our offerings in the market
2. Execute comprehensive go-to-market plans with a clear strategy and approach to drive card spend, activation, retention, and overall portfolio growth.
3. Create and manage targeted value propositions and messaging based on customer segmentation, behavioural insights, and lifecycle stage.
4. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams—including card partnerships, portfolio management, product, business analytics, cognitive banking, in-house creative, and performance marketing teams, as well as external agencies—to ensure marketing initiatives align with business goals, brand strategy, and customer needs.
5. Support the tracking and management of advertising and promotion (A&P) budgets.
Content Creation & Amplification
1. Proficient in leveraging creative tools such as GenAI, Bank’s ChatGPT, and Canva to support the production of engaging marketing content, including EDMs, in-app messages, social media posts, and website pages that promote card usage and portfolio growth.
2. Support A/B testing and campaign optimisation to enhance creative effectiveness, increase awareness, and improve card spend and retention.
3. Ensure brand consistency and alignment with Bank’s overall marketing and communications strategy across owned and paid media channels.
Data-Driven Marketing & Performance Analysis
1. Track and analyse campaign performance with a focus on key KPIs to optimise marketing effectiveness and ROI.
2. Collaborate with business analytics and performance marketing teams to derive insights that inform ongoing optimisation and future campaign planning.
3. Prepare reports and presentations to communicate marketing performance and customer insights to internal stakeholders, ensuring data-driven decisions that align with business objectives.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
2. 2- 4 years of relevant experience in marketing, preferably in cards, banking, or financial services.
3. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously.
4. Proficient in leveraging customer insights and analytics to inform marketing strategy.
5. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
