The Role:

The Business Resource Planning Manager is in charge of optimising resource allocation (teaching time slots, deployment of staff and teachers and inventory) and time table management across all I Can Read learning centres owned and managed by the company. The candidate ensures that the right resource is available internally when required to meet changing customer volume demands

The Business Resource Planning Manager understands how the business operates and plans for future capacity requirements and undertakes planning activities to ensure targets are met and resources are optimised for operational and cost efficiencies. This role contributes to the creation and implementation of best practice capacity planning vision, strategy, policies and processes to improve operational performance.

The Business Resource Planning Manager is a key business partner to the centre and operations management, providing critical operational metrics and financial support analysis, modelling and forecasting for performance measurement and decision making.

The Responsibilities:

  •  Responsible for time table planning for all courses in the learning centres to achieve optimal utilisation of resources based on class room set up, centre capacity, teaching time slots and anticipated demand, to achieve business goals
  • Work with internal colleagues on assignment and deployment of teachers to various course and centres to achieve desired teacher to student ratio
  • Forecast demand for creation of new classes by analysing student movement trends, enrolment data, availability of teaching time slots and any other constraints
  • Work with HR to forecast teacher and operations staff recruitment
  • Build dashboards and develop baseline operating metrics targets with Management and measure outcomes vs targets
  • Review data and trends and refine models and methods to continually improve plans
  • Manage deviations from the plan that have financial impact
  • Develop baseline operating metrics targets with Management and measure outcomes vs targets
  • Identify and drive improvement initiatives that optimise capacity and ensure best return on investment without adding risk or disruption
  • Utilise knowledge and research methods to benchmark capacity planning activities and to drive best practice results
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for planning purposes to meet operational requirements
  • Generate and analyse business reports on operating metrics such as centre utilisation, teacher utilisation, and relevant key performance metrics.
  • Co-ordinate cross functional activities to reconcile variances from original plans and maintain a view of actual against forecast projections
Experience and Qualifications:

  • Degree holder in Statistics, Business or equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years of demonstrable experience in statistics, forecasting and management information methods and techniques
  • Significant experience of building capacity/forecasting models and plans and undertaking complex analysis to create information
  • Prior experience in education, retail or logistics preferred
  • Experience of delivering results through cross-functional working
  • Proven people management skill set
  • Strong IT systems knowledge and skills including advanced Excel skills and the ability to learn new software packages
