Section A: Summary of Job

The incumbent will be part of the Energy Sales Marketing Department team responsible for sales, marketing and business development activities. Singapore Business is responsible for a large market share of Singapore total gas supply, the team is pivotal in managing commercial activities for sales, business development and on-shore trading of gas. The role also collaborates with Marketing manager for B2B marketing to retail gas buyers in Singapore. to Identify potential new sales leads and maintain strategic relationships with key customers and internal stakeholders regularly.

Section B: Key Duties and Responsibilities

A. Sales, marketing and business development

• Identify business opportunities, formulate sales strategies, and execute business initiatives and marketing plans to engage customers and secure sustainable business growth

• Own and lead the development of identified sales tools to improve sales effectiveness; utilize tools to manage sales pipeline, create value differentiation and achieve growth targets for base

• Understand customers’ needs to oversee structuring of deals and lead development of innovative products, including growth and development of financial hedging services

• Lead increased marketing efforts (development of marketing materials, organize and conduct customer engagement campaigns) to develop new market sector such as trucked LNG

B. Customer account management

• Responsible and accountable for commercial performance indicators of business accounts

• Regularly review business plans with internal management and customer’s management to identify new opportunities and areas for strategic partnerships

• Liaise with gas operations department to ensure operational requirements are in place to meet contractual obligations (i.e. capacity booking, pipeline construction quotes, permits & feasibility)

• Present sales proposals to customers’ management and influence decision making processes

• Lead and coordinate discussions with Legal, Risk, Finance and Operations to draft commercial gas supply and gas retail agreements, including formulation of key terms including pricing, financial and operational parameters

• Validate parameters related to customer details, operational and pricing, and are accurately maintained and updated in the Gas Management System and Energy Components System. Ensure integrity of entire order to cash process

• Assist in payment and credit related issues and ensure risk mitigants are in place

C. Market knowledge and analysis

• Consult and advice Marketing Manager on major developments in commercial areas and market developments

• Participate in industry forums and networking sessions to meet industry leaders and create new business opportunities and connections

• Collate market data and analyze sales reports to formulate marketing strategies

D. Any other ad-hoc projects assigned from time to time

Section C: Job Requirements (Specific Skills or Knowledge)

• Tertiary degree in a business or technical discipline (Business, Engineering, Science or Finance)

• Strong foundation in economic analysis

• Understanding of operational parameters in the context of commercial deals

• Take personal responsibility to and ownership of set goals

• Energy and drive to continuously grow sales and improve processes

• Commercial negotiations and risk management

• Team player and ability to leverage support from stakeholders

• Strong communication skills

• Analytical and creative problem solving skills

• At least 3-5 years in oil and gas or power utility experience

• Experience in managing business accounts and/or business development
