​Our client is seeking a highly motivated Ecommerce Director to join their expanding team based in Singapore. This role offers an exciting opportunity to accelerate the ecommerce business across various channels, including pure players, branded ecommerce stores, retailer.com, and emerging social commerce. The successful candidate will be responsible for key account leadership for selected regional ecommerce retailers and will serve as the primary point of contact for all contractual agreements with third-party e-commerce partners. This role also involves collaborating with other team leaders to continuously accelerate the ecommerce business.

About the role:
As an Ecommerce Director for Singapore and Malaysia, you will play a pivotal role in accelerating our client's ecommerce business. You will work closely with various teams to develop a strategic business model that spans across different ecommerce channels. Your responsibilities will not only include managing KPIs but also co-developing omnichannel practices. You will serve as a crucial link between our client and third-party e-commerce partners. Your collaborative efforts with the marketing team will enhance customer experience while driving quality traffic to all ecommerce channels. Furthermore, your guidance will empower offline sales teams to effectively manage digital shelves on all ecommerce platforms.

  • Work closely with the offline sales team and General Manager to develop a strategic and sustainable business model for each category

  • Be accountable for e-commerce business KPIs for Singapore and Malaysia, including revenue, traffic, conversion, Average Order Value (AOV), margin, inventory, etc.

  • Co-develop omnichannel practices and establish the strategy and action plans for success

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all contractual agreements between our client and third-party e-commerce partners

  • Collaborate with other team leaders in the marketing team to enhance customer experience and drive quality traffic to all ecommerce channels

  • Guide offline sales teams to operate and manage digital shelf on all ecommerce channels

  • Build reporting and dashboards which will include tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs), traffic sources, device usage, merchandising and funnel behaviours across both markets

  • Work with the e-com enabler to forecast revenue, establish sustainable budgets and targets

  • Empower local teams with skills and expertise needed to sustain new business via playbook development, training, and best practice sharing

  • Attend key local digital & ecommerce meetings with key retailers and digital marketing partners


What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Ecommerce Director role brings over a decade of experience in the field, with a significant portion dedicated to building and driving eCommerce businesses. You should have spent at least 4-5 years in a managerial role, demonstrating your ability to lead and inspire teams. Your proven track record of launching and optimizing shops across various ecommerce channels will be crucial to this role. A deep understanding of various systems in the eCommerce technology ecosystem is required. Your strong collaboration skills will enable you to manage vendors and stakeholders effectively.

* Over 10 years of experience, of which 6-8 years should be specific to building and driving eCommerce businesses

  • At least 4-5 years in a managerial role

  • Proven track record of launching and optimizing shops with merchandising experience on all ecommerce channels

  • Regional Ecommerce management experience, with regional digital marketing & media and CRM experience preferred

  • Understanding of Sales Force Commerce Cloud, Sales Force Marketing Cloud, Exact Target, Order Management Systems and Warehouse Management Systems, and other systems in the eCommerce technology ecosystem

  • Experience working within a global operating model, managing multiple distribution partners, and driving alignment between HQ and regional teammates

  • Strong collaborating skills, vendor, and stakeholder management

  • Strong project management skill demonstrated via key regional ecommerce campaign launch and management
