JOB SUMMARY

SC Ventures is looking for an Innovation Designer to join our Singapore team and be integral to our design process. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker, pragmatist and strategist who loves to design and build new business models and understands how (and why) designing new products, services, and processes can drive strategic growth. 

We are specifically looking for people with in-depth experience in end-to-end product life cycles, business model design, market analysis, financial modelling, and product, process and service implementation. 

In your past life you may have been an intra- or entrepreneur, business strategy consultant or product manager with a strong focus on solving customer centric business problems. 

You will have a chance to collaborate with global internal stakeholders, ventures, clients and participate in the process of designing and building transformational and incremental innovations, including user and expert research, business and financial modelling, growth hacking, systems thinking and strategic foresight. 

You will take the lead in enabling teams to articulate new value propositions, forecast and simulate the impact of new offers, processes and business models, and help inspire and validate strategic direction of projects through data. 

Once you are here, you will:

  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to understand their business challenges and opportunities and to help identify and prioritize their near and long term goals.

  • Apply customer centric design methods and tools to prototyping, developing, and validating new business models and extending the customer-centric nature of design thinking to the business viability phase of the innovation process.

  • Use discovery-driven planning and financial modelling to explore the business model possibilities behind design concepts and to shape and influence their design.

  • Provide thought leadership by staying ahead of industry trends and contributing to the evolution of our design methodologies.

  • Support business design activities including client workshops, stakeholder interviews, business intelligence gathering, creative brainstorms, visioning, and KPI development.

  • Support new business development efforts by providing expert information in pitch efforts and client meetings.

  • Translate business data and concepts into actionable insights for your teams.

  • Provide strategic risk advice for across SC Ventures and provide direct guidance to framework and policy requirements

  • To provide the Group guidance, based on external information and knowledge of best practice and expertise, to inform SCV on the best approaches

  • To manage all processes which are owned by SCV, and to continuously improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of processes 

People & Talent

  • Reinforce a culture of continuous learning and development within SCV 

  • Support an open environment to stimulate creativity and develop innovative solutions to support the Groups’ aspirations

  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values

Our Ideal Candidate

  • A Bachelor or Masters degree in business or the like, with 5+ years of consultancy or strategy experience. 

  • Rigorous acumen across many of the following areas, and subject matter expertise in on or two: Product Development, Product Management, Start-ups, Strategy, Organizational Behavior, Operations, Finance, and Design.

  • Operational experience and understanding on taking products and services to market and scaling, or implementing business enhancements, whether as an entrepreneur, intrapreneur or product owner or manager

  • Excellence in complex business model development, scenario planning and forecasting

  • Proven fluency in human centered design process, and ability to work in multidisciplinary design teams. 

  • Experience in Excel and/or other analysis tools, familiarity with prototyping methods, and ability to learn to use new tools in real time. 

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication, as well ability to make use of presentation tools and methods to tell effective stories to colleagues, clients and partners. 

  • Proven ability to work in fast paced environments with diverse teams. 

  • Financial Services experience is a plus. 

Role Specific Technical Competencies

  • Ability to perform complex business model development, to forecast and plan scenario

  • Human Centered Design Process, including expert level use of prototyping methods and tools, for the effective story-telling

  • Product Development or Product Management in start ups
