What is the Opportunity?

We are seeking an experienced transformation focused programme manager to lead and oversee transversal activities associated with the Catalyst IT transformation programme. This role is pivotal in managing the COTS applications, End User Computing, and other transversal initiatives across the Catalyst programme. 

This role demands expert oversight across all application related activities to ensure all teams are executing all aspects of the delivery lifecycle consistently and in an optimised manner. This includes ensuring robust risk management practices, understanding and navigating internal and external dependencies, forging strong business engagement channels, and ensuring the smooth transition and adaptation of applications in the new environment. It's imperative that this individual not only drives the programme to meet technical milestones but also aligns every action with the bank's strategic, regulatory, and business objectives.

The successful candidate will work to bring execution certainty to the Catalyst programme, partnering across the TTO and relevant Business Partner teams to scope and deliver the book of required to meet the required outcomes and Strategy 25 metrics per commitment to the Bank’s Management Team and Board.

Strategy

  • Detailed understanding of the scope of the Catalyst programme and it’s interdependencies.

  • TTO Strategy 25, together with ensuring the projects and programs within the central COO book of work are defined and executed per S25 metric and outcome commitments.

  • The ability to make proactive scoping and prioritization decisions that support / accelerate the execution of the programme.

  • Support the development of business cases articulating investment required and benefits anticipated.

  • Understand the Bank’s Technology Process Universe and the target state strategy to transform and streamline it.

  • Be proficient in Operating Model designs, together with the various dimensions that underpin them.Be able to partner with the Head of Transformation Initiatives to scope and drive the execution of the operating model strategy.

Business

  • Understanding of the scope and purpose of TTO, together with how Strategy 25 and specifically, the Catalyst programme underpins and ensures its successful delivery.

  • Ensure the delivery of initiatives in line with the Bank’s control and governance framework.

  • Looks for opportunities to drive continuous improvement, including the implementation of new ways of working, digitization, automation and simplification across the scope of project and program management execution and reporting.

Processes

  • Responsible for providing updates on initiative progress, issues/risks, timelines, financials, resource plan, and any other static data to relevant governance forums (i.e., Refinement Forum (RF), Steering Co, Monthly Performance Reviews (MPR), Quarterly Performance Reviews (QPR), etc.). Ensure the data is meaningful, accurate, relevant, and data is current.

  • Continuously looks for ways to change and improve the Bank’s approach to delivering change, together with optimization of any delivery / reporting mechanisms.

People & Talent

Risk Management

  • Ensure rapid escalation of material risks, issues and decisions that impact all aspects of application and data migrations across the Catalyst programme.

  • Ensure Risk and Issues are updated timely in Clarity and follow-up for upcoming and overdue RAID.

  • Identification of Dependencies and tracking through Jira.

  • RAID updates to RF/MPR/QPR.

  • Ensure Data Quality for Risk Management is of high standards.

Data Quality

  • Proactively closing data quality gaps for the Initiatives and Epics in Clarity and Jira.

  • Drive data quality across application data sources including CMDB.

  • Follow up on Initiative closures, ensures all relevant documentation is available & all milestones are closed, etc.

Management Reporting

  • Ensure RAID reporting, Financial Reporting, CRA (Go-live reporting), Squad and Resource reporting are provided timely and accurately.

  • Ensure source systems are updated timely to enable automated reporting.

Financials Management

  • Assists in updates on monthly costs plans, re-forecasting activities & variance analysis and reporting.

  • Collaborates with Technology Finance team for various reporting.

Governance

  • 10 years of Program Management experience in large and complex, multi-geography projects / programs.

  • Excellent oral, written communication, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to manage a diverse and challenging stakeholder community.

  • Strong project management experience with the ability to work on multiple projects.

  • Ensure all project deliverables, artefacts and approvals are stored in a structured discoverable format for future recovery and audit.

  • Prepare for project audit where necessary.

  • Proactively maintain project library for quality and completeness, including auditable approval trails.

  • Govern artefact standards.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills which lend themselves to team-oriented approach and able to work effectively as part of a team and as an individual.

  • Ability to think clearly and to resolve critical problems in a high-pressure environment, ability to work under pressure.

  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking ability.

  • Strong sense of personal ownership and responsibility in accomplishing the organization’s goal. Is confident and will roll-up his/her sleeves to drive success.

What do you need to succeed?

  • 10+ years of experience in a professional corporate environment having scoped, shaped and delivered large scale complex projects and programs.

  • The ability to work across domains, partner and coordinate with multiple stakeholders and be able to manage and navigate through ambiguity and organizational complexity.

  • Proven experience in managing large-scale IT transformation initiatives.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to manage a diverse and challenging stakeholder community.

  • An analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.

  • Strong ability to analyse and understand project / programme financials and other relevant data points to synthesize observations and/or recommendations for management attention.

  • Strong organisational skills including attention to detail and multitasking ability.

  • Strong sense of personal ownership and willingness to roll-up sleeves to drive success.

  • A mindset to continuously learn and develop themselves.

  • An understanding of Strategy covering key operating domains spanning Transformation, Technology & Operations.

  • Appropriate Project / Program Management qualifications (PMP, PgMP, PfMP, CPO).

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; PowerPoint, written & oral Financials management.Budget tracking, planning, forecast and variance explanations.

  • Tools: Experience of Microsoft Project, Clarity, Tableau, JIRA, Confluence or other project management software is an advantage.
