​Responsibilities:

Support the Operational Risk Management function lead of reinforcing the adherence of the Group Operational Risk Management Policy and Procedure to CIMB Bank Berhad, Singapore Branch, utilizing the operational risk management system and other framework tools.

Maintain good working relationship with operational risk stakeholders in various Business Units and Business Enablers.

Responsible for performing operational risk framework validation according to the Group Operational Risk Management Policy and Procedure, including Control Effective Testing (CET), Key Risk Indicator (KRI), Control Issue Management (CIM), Loss Event Data (LED) and Validation Scorecard.

Provide effective challenge as 2LoD through review of operational risk metrics (CIM. KRI, LED, CET) to identify systematic/thematic risk concerns that warrant deeper analysis and escalation to management.

Represent ORM in risk forums/working groups to understand and implement requirements from a 2LoD perspective.

Coordinating the operational risk reporting with Business Units and Business Enablers of the bank.

Manage operational risk reporting system as an application administrator, including reference data setup and maintenance, process workflow and exceptions handling.

Participate in projects that in the Singapore operational risk management function.

Participate in ad hoc operational risk management assurance review processes.

Facilitate monthly reporting fromoperational risk reporting system (SHARP) and alert Business Units and Business Enablers on overdue Control Effective Testing (CET), Key Risk Indicator (KRI), Control Issue Management (CIM) and Loss Event Data (LED).

Conduct pre-Singapore Operational & Resiliency Risk Committee meeting (“SORRC”) review and highlight any incompletion of submission, and concerns related to Operational risk.

Coordinate SORRC meetings and ensure quorum of committee meeting is met.

Coordinating the deck for Singapore Risk and Compliance Committee (“SRCC”) and Group Operational & Resiliency Risk Committee (“GORRC”) reporting from NFRM perspective.

Conduct training and coaching to increase staff risk awareness, thus reducing operational errors and minimising financial losses.

Product Approval Process - Perform operational risk assessment for new product propositions / variation to existing products as well as changes to processes relating to products to determine controls are adequate and effective to mitigate any risk identified. Provide advice and guidance to Product Owners to ensure adherence to requirements through a consistent and structured approach based on Group framework requirements.

Review, advice and challenge the risk assessment of the new product / material variation to an existing product prior to submission for committee approval.

Ensure Product Owners perform the Post Implementation Review (PIR) in accordance to framework requirements.

Support the Non Financial Risk Management (NFRM) goals and objectives as part of the team and contributing to the NFRM processes and initiatives.

Requirements:

Qualifications

Minimally, a Degree holder

Professional Qualification and/or Regulatory Licensing Requirements

Ideal to be equipped with professional or post graduate qualifications, e.g. Chartered Accountant, MBA

Relevant Work Experience

Minimum 7 years of work experience, with at least 5 years of experience working within either a support function or in operational risk management department of a universal bank

Competencies/Skills

Strong understanding and knowledge of relevant operational risk tools

Team player with good communication skills both, verbal and written

Possess strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work and influence within a matrix environment and build effective rapport and partnership with all levels of key stakeholders

An understanding of risk drivers and ability to articulate risk to non-risk personnel

Understanding of how a bank operates front to back

A deep understanding of the operational risk management requirements of a universal bank

Prior experience and good understanding of product approval process requirements

Project management skills

Experience in designing and writing reports for board level and below

Basic understanding of system requirements and infrastructure

Experience in being able to contribute to methodology enhancement

Self-driven and independent with good attention to detail and accuracy

Strong problem solving skill and ability to work under pressure and tight timeline

Multi-tasking with good time management skills
